Icetown Holiday Interpretive Competition!
Here is how it works:
Skaters choose a genre or category in which they would like to compete and will receive the music during the warm up for their event. They will hear the music 3 times (creating the program on the spot) and then perform it for a panel of judges. Competitors will not be able to watch other skaters’ routines to avoid any advantage to later skaters in the event. Skaters will compete respective to their level. All skaters participating will receive a medal or trophy for their performance. The cost is $30.00. The event will take place on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 5:00pm and will last approximately 1 and 1/2 hours in duration. Ask the box office how to sign up!
Check our Website for Holiday Schedule Changes!
There are extra public session hours and closures due to the holidays, so make sure to check the website before heading to Icetown!

Hockey Corner: Adult Hockey
The Fall season is coming to a close and the competition in every division is fierce for a favorable playoff position. The competition is great and it has been an enjoyable season thus far with great goals, big saves, and spectacular plays. Icetown would like to wish all teams much success in the playoffs.
Remember that players are going to need to have 8 games played to be playoff eligible unless they are fully paid. If you have a questions about player eligibility, please email Matt Dunaev at email@example.com.
Icetown would also like to congratulate our first womens team, the Lady Reign, on a spectacular inaugural season.
We have openings in every division so if you are interested in playing please contact our Hockey Director at (949) 683-8677 or email Matt Dunaev at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on joining our Adult hockey league.
Adult Hockey Clinic
The adult hockey clinic is perfect for adults looking to better their skills and pick their game up. With the addition of the off ice training we are now able to offer a complete training program for adult hockey players.
Adult Clinic – On Ice
The Fall In House season is coming to an end and the progress of our players is superseding that of previous seasons. The smiles on the players’ faces and the competition amongst the teams are making this season one that will go into Icetown history. The coaches are all very proud of each and every player in the program and hope to see everyone back next season!
The Peewee tournament team had a great first tournament in Escondido over the Thanksgiving weekend and the coaches see much potential in the team. If you are interested in joining the Peewee tournament team please contact Matt Dunaev at email@example.com.
The Jr. Reign and Lady Reign are very proud to announce three great victories over the Thanksgiving tournament. We had a great showing club wide with three championship banners coming home and a runner up. The three champions were 18AA, Bantam B and Lady Reign 14U. Our Squirt B team had a great showing coming in 2nd in their tournament. Keep up the great work!

Defense Tips: Playing the Point
When you’re playing defense, and the puck is in the offensive zone, your job is to keep the puck in the zone. Here's a few defense tips on playing the point.
When the other team rings the puck along the boards towards the blue line, your first priority is stop the puck, and then try to get a shot on goal. If the puck gets by you and crosses the blue line, your entire team has to clear the zone to prevent an offside.
- Position yourself just in front of the blue line
- Keep your stick on the ice
- Keep your shoulders and skates facing into the offensive zone.
- Don’t turn your body towards the boards
- Stop the puck with your stick perpendicular to the boards, not at an angle.
- Get control of the puck, and then bring it away from the boards towards the middle of the ice.
- Get your shot through to the net.
- Shoot low for a possible deflection or rebound.
Getting your shot past any players trying to check you is crucial. If your shot is blocked, and the other player gets to the puck first, he has a good chance at a clean breakaway.
Take a look before you shoot.
If there’s too much traffic, look for an open man to pass to, or simply dump it back in down the boards.
